This drawing came from a love and appreciation I have always had for tigers. It is the second drawing of a big cat that I have done. When I started this drawing, I started with a cheap grade of paper thinking it would end up being more of a sketch, but as it evolved, I began to enjoy what I was doing, and it soon turned into a full-fledged drawing. As a result, the paper had a hard time holding up under the pressure of many layers of colored pencil. It buckled in a few places, but it is not to noticable.
If I learned nothing else from this project, it was how important it is to start out with good quality paper. Just in case...
