"Shatze"

Completed 1992
This Doberman belonged to my dear friend Laura. She asked me to do a portrait of the dog as a gift for her mother. I knew this was an important project because the dog meant so much to the family. It was therefore necessary to capture the real heart and spirit of Shatze on paper.
The amazing thing about this portrait is that several years after the drawing was finished, Laura's parents' house burned down. The drawing survived unharmed.
